Sports Therapy Treatments in Norwich

Over 10 years’ experience as a sports therapist in Norwich. Specialising in both sporting and day-to-day musculoskeletal injuries, aches & pains across all age groups. Alongside clinic work, I have previous experience a soft tissue therapist with the First Team at Norwich City Football Club; as well as the former lead pitch side therapist at Wroxham Football Club for 5 years, and as part of the pitch side medical team at the Academies of both Ipswich and Norwich City Football Clubs.

My knowledge and clinical experience were utilised by Norwich City College, as I lectured on the Introduction to Sports Injuries module for their first year BSc Sport, Exercise & Health degree students for 3 years. I have also had the honour and pleasure to have been able to support local Paralympic swimmer & Gold medallist, Jessica-Jane Applegate, providing sports massage support since 2012.

My educational background began with 2:1 BSc (Hons) Sports Science degree, graduating in 2002, followed by completing an Advanced L5 Diploma in Sports Therapy in 2007 with a distinction. I have attended a wide and varied source of training courses, events and seminars across the last 10 years, to ensure my knowledge is kept up to date and based on current evidence-based research. I am a keen advocate of establishing the root cause of an injury or reoccurring problem, rather than just treating the symptoms.

It is key to enable and educate my clients that simple changes, movements and exercises can really make a big difference to their lives.

I have played netball since I was 10 years old, and currently play in Division 2 of the Norwich Netball League. I also enjoy running, and earlier in 2020, I completed my first half marathon in Cambridge. Yoga has also been a more recent introduction to my life, which I took up in the latter part of 2018. This has had a very positive effect on the way my body moves and the subtle strength it provides to my muscles to benefit my other sporting activities.
